Eden Zook, Owner/Behavior Consultant/Trainer

Hi, my name is Eden Zook. I am currently the owner/trainer/behavior consultant for Canine Karma LLC for the past three  years.  Previously I was known in the Seacoast area for being the Manager of Behavior and Training at the New Hampshire SPCA for the past 6 years, during which time I successfully ran a training and behavior modification program for the public’s dogs and shelter dogs.  That work included, but was not limited to, group classes for all levels including dog sports and other specialities, private behavioral consultations, play groups, many workshops and seminars, the creation of a pet assisted therapy program, and a behavioral enrichment program for shelter animals.

I am a graduate of the Animal Behavior College where I received my ABCDT Certification, as well as UMass Amherst with a BA in Psychology and Associates in both Sociology and Criminal Justice. I am also a professional member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) and a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer), along with a variety of other training certifications.  In addition I have my Reiki level 2 certification and am an animal Reiki practitioner.

I have worked in the field of animal welfare/services for over 16 years holding such positions as animal behaviorist, temperament testing specialist, certified dog trainer, veterinary technician, humane educator and humane law enforcement officer. I previously taught and mentored under Kelley Bollen, renowned animal behaviorist, at Animal Alliances and the Collared Scholar in Massachusetts. I teach a wide variety of group classes which can all be seen in detail HERE .   I also specialize in fear, anxiety, aggression, and reactivity behavior modification.

In addition to the many services I offer for you and your canine companion, I am incredibly proud to be a trainer for a variety of organizations.  I am a mentor trainer for the CATCH Trainers Academy, helping dog training hopefuls reach their personal career success as well as train service dogs for several different organizations.   It is extremely rewarding work to be part of these amazing programs. In addition I am often called upon to act as a canine behavior expert for a variety of dog aggression court proceedings. Recently, I have also become a volunteer trainer for a local non-profit animal rescue, Pet Tails, here in Northwood (  And also sit on the Board of Directors for the organization.  Pet Tails Rescue is a wonderful rescue group that helps rehome dogs, cats, kittens, and puppies in need of forever homes both locally and from the south.  Rescue has always been a strong part of who I am and my passion; so I am forever great full for such a wonderful collaboration.

I am passionate about strengthening the human-animal bond and currently share my home with:  Johnny,  a 6-year old American Pitbull Terrier; Raven, a 3-year old special needs Doberman Pincher;  Piglet, a 4-year old Boston Terrier; Loki, a 1 year old American Pitbull Terrier; Zipper, a 6- year old Chug;  Simon, Annie, a 15- year old torbie cat;  Rick James and Tyrone Bigums, 2 male cockatiels; and Moxie, a 7- year old African Grey Parrot;  and Falkor, a 17- year old AQHA quarterhorse; so YES,  I do love my animals. Sara’s Bio:

Hello! My name is Sara and I am a trainer for Canine Karma. I have interned with Eden for over a year, and I am so excited to be working with Eden to help continue to foster the bond between humans and their canine companions.

My love for animal behavior began early on in my life with family pets, but really took off when I got my first personal dog, Sheldon, in 2015. In working with Sheldon and fostering our bond, I learned a lot about animal behavior and how much I love training! My second dog, Cash, really helped me take my training skills to the next level, as well as really let my inner behavior nerd shine. I use the skills I have learned for my horses too! They work for any species.

I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Equine Science, and from Great Bay Community College in 2014 with an Associate’s in Science degree in Veterinary Technology. I have been working as a Certified Veterinary Technician since. I see a lot of dogs who are fearful of the vet. I hoped to help clients help their dogs feel better about their veterinary experience; so in 2018 I became a Fear Free Certified professional. This spring I will be taking my CPDT-KA dog trainer certification exam as well.

I currently share my home with Sheldon, a mixed breed; Cash, a Border Collie x Australian Shepherd; Jed, an Appendix Quarter Horse; Hopper, a Shetland Pony x Miniature Horse, 2 cats, a guinea pig, and chickens.

I look forward to meeting your canine companions!
